Catherine McKillop

"My inspiration is the wildlife available at my door step in the local forests, hills and beaches of beautiful Kintyre. I am fortunate to be able to see these animals in their natural habitat almost every day and try to capture real moments of nature in my images with as much respect, consideration and attention to detail as possible. I was very young when I began drawing wildlife, but over a decade of careful studies of fur and feather alike have given me the confidence to explore the medium of charcoal, chalk and high quality oil pastels. I enjoy using the medium of charcoal, it's tricky to use, but the ease of blurring I feel reflects the true movement and motion we find in our birds and mammals and I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I have enjoyed drawing them."
