"Living on the beautiful Kintyre peninsula on the west coast of Scotland I find inspiration to paint in the stunning coastal scenery. The Atlantic waves break on to long sandy beaches and rocky shores. The light constantly changes with wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Exposed as we are to the ocean the rewards are dramatic cloud effects and an ever-changing light. Retiring to Kintyre after a working life in education in Edinburgh, painting has opened up a different way of relating to this landscape and new ways of looking at it constantly challenge and reward."
